Decaleon v2.0 PC版

Decaleon is a versatile tool designed for multilingual Esperanto translation, English dictionary lookup, and vocabulary practice. It features a comprehensive multilingual dictionary and vocabulary trainer that supports an array of language pairs and utilizes UTF8/Unicode encoding. Users can export content in various formats including text, HTML, TeX, and PDF. Text files can also be imported into other vocabulary training software.

Esperanto Translation

The translation feature of Decaleon converts words from 12 languages into Esperanto. It is based on a VB.NET project using XML and boasts an extensive vocabulary for each language, ranging from 30,000 to 60,000 English words. This includes expandable lexicons for English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Danish, Swedish, Greek, German, Polish, and Croatian, complete with contextual and synonym data, as well as semantic group information. The 6.0 version introduces additional standardized terms and supports an additional 23 languages. A smaller vocabulary database is also available for Albanian, Bulgarian, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, Hungarian, Norwegian, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Slavic, Arabic, and Asian languages.

Text Mining

The Sourceforge project TEXminer employs the same XML database to conduct text mining. This feature is currently under development and aims to enhance the software's functionality by incorporating co-occurrence analysis.

Vocabulary Trainer

The Vocabulary Trainer module is designed to be versatile, offering expandable vocabulary practice for all supported languages. It can also be utilized for text mining to analyze the frequency of word occurrences.

How to Use Decaleon

To get started with Decaleon, simply select the language pair you wish to translate between or the language for which you want to practice vocabulary. For translation, input the word or phrase, and the software will provide the Esperanto equivalent. For vocabulary practice, choose the language and the level of difficulty, and Decaleon will present you with words and phrases to study. The export and import functions allow for seamless integration with other learning tools and platforms.
