Usage Method

1. Enter words First, you need to input the content of the word cloud one by one, or you can use the batch import function provided by WordArt to add, but this requires preparing materials in Excel in advance. Next, we need to set different "sizes" for each word. Note that the word "size" here does not refer to the actual size of the text in the final generated graphic, but rather the concept of "proportion" of the word in the word cloud. We can set specific colors, sizes, angles, and whether to repeat for each word. However, I recommend that you keep it random, which is more convenient and does not require setting one by one; Moreover, after setting it like this, the text cloud generated may surprise us with a different look. 2. Select the shape The overall shape of the word cloud is determined by the graphics selected in this section. WordArt has pre-set a large number of graphics, and it is almost no problem to generate any kind of word cloud you want. If you still feel that it is not enough, you can upload your own graphics to generate custom shapes for the word cloud. 3. Choose the font The font in the word cloud can also be customized, but note that the built-in fonts in WordArt do not support Chinese, so we need to upload Chinese fonts ourselves to correctly display Chinese in the word cloud. 4. Text arrangement layout The layout section mainly customizes the internal text arrangement of the word cloud. If we want our word cloud to be more chaotic and present a unique aesthetic, we can choose some other layout methods. At the same time, we can also set the number of words that appear. As can be seen from the figure above, the words in the word cloud will repeat. But we can modify it in the "Word Appearance Frequency" option, so that a certain word does not repeat. In addition, as mentioned earlier, the "size" of the word above refers to the proportion of the word appearing, and the "vocabulary size" here really refers to the volume of the word. After modification, you can adjust the volume of this word in the word cloud. 5. Color modification We can also customize the color and transparency of the text. If you find that the color you set does not take effect, please remember to uncheck the "Use Shape Color" option. If you use "Random Add Color" and "Random Rearrange Color", it may bring you a surprise. 6. Preview After a series of settings, we want to see what we have achieved now. At this time, we can move our sight to the right to see the preview section. We can make further adjustments to the details of the image according to the generated preview until we are satisfied with it. When we place the mouse over the word, there will be a small animation, which is related to the "Rollover Text Color" and "Rollover Text Background" in the font color setting section before. We can directly switch to the "Edit Mode" to make fine adjustments to the color, size, and angle of each word in the word cloud. 7. Export download After adjusting to a state that you are satisfied with, we need to do the final export work. As a free user, the export options we can choose are relatively limited, but they are also very sufficient for us. Click on the only option "PNG SQ" in the PNG format export, and you can export and download your work. If you want to retain the mouse hover animation of the word cloud, you need to choose to share the link, only this way can retain the animation effect.
